Precision Grinding Wheels
Cylindrical grinding wheels are typically used in the transportation and toolroom industries and are ideal for medium to heavy stock removal. If you are concerned with wheel life and total per-part grinding costs, our cylindrical grinding wheels increase production and decrease cost. See the full Cylindrical Grinding Wheels range
Creep feed grinding is found in both cylindrical and surface grinding. CENTERLESS GRINDING Centerless grinding occurs when there isn’t workholding or centers to hold the part in place. Instead, there is another wheel opposite the grinding wheel, which keeps the object in place while simultaneously grinding. Some other types of grinding include:

What are the differences between centerless grinding
Centerless and Between Centers The fundamental difference between these two ways of grinding cylindrical shapes is how the workpiece is held. In cylindrical grinding it’s held on its axis of rotation, “between centers” while in centerless grinding it’s supported along its axial length.
Creepfeed/surface grinding: Increase wheel speed. This is a good starting point. However, be sure the wheel is rated to run at the new speed. The maximum operating speed (MOS) will be stated on the side of the wheel. Reduce feed rate. Reduce depth of cut. Increase the number of spark-out passes.

Cylindrical & Roll Grinding Inside diameter (ID) and outside diameter (OD) cylindrical grinding are commonly used grinding techniques. Our grinding wheels cut cool and perform well with low contact pressure – making them an ideal choice for manufacturers across multiple markets. Roll Grinding Wheels are used for reshaping of casted or forged rolls.
GRINDING FEEDS AND SPEEDS
On the other hand, very low grinding wheel speeds, in the order of 3,000 to 4,000 fpm (about 15 to 20 m/sec) are needed for the surface grinding of various types of high alloy and high strength work materials, using the lower wheel speed as a means for minimizing the development of heat, to which certain types of materials and workpieces are
